A court here sentenced three doctors to three years in jail in a 2009 sex-determination and female foeticide case. Judicial Magistrate First Class Prachi Patel on Monday convicted Sushma Trivedi, Sandhya Tiwari and S.K. Shrivastava under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, public prosecutor Ritesh Goyal said.₹5,000 fine The doctors were given three years’ imprisonment and the court slapped a fine of ₹5,000 on two of them — Sandhya Tiwari and S.K. Shrivastava — for running clinics without legal permission, he said.Mr. Goyal said a Delhi-based social organisation called Beti Bachao Samiti had conducted a sting operation separately on these three doctors in May 2009. In the sting operation, these doctors agreed to carry out sex-determination and female foeticide procedures in their clinics, he said. The organisation approached the District Collector with the recording of the sting operation, who directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer to file a case against the three under the PCPNDT Act, he said. The court found them guilty under section 23 of the PCPNDT Act.

Twitter/@UKCoachCalipariThe NCAA Tournament bracket, which was revealed last night, had a number of questionable inclusions and seedings. While many are focusing on Syracuse being a 10-seed, Tulsa being in the field at all, and the exclusions of popular mid-majors like Monmouth and St. Mary’s, the top of the bracket had some interesting team placements as well. One notable quirk: despite Kentucky beating Texas A&M in the SEC Championship on Sunday, the Aggies received a three seed while UK was bumped to the four line.John Calipari joined ESPN’s Bracketology show on Sunday night and delivered an epic rant about his team’s seed. Today, on his own radio show, he had a new theory.Calipari on selection committee: “They did not want us in Louisville … noooooo.”— TheCatsPause247 (@TheCatsPause247) March 14, 2016Calipari: They did not want us in Louisville. “Most importantly I’m standing here by myself saying he’s not welcome here and neither is his pipeline,” George said after Trudeau’s speech concluded. As the prime minister reached the midway point of his address to a crowd of hundreds gathered at the Didar Berry Farm, George began to sing and drum.At one point during George’s demonstration, a woman from the crowd turned around and screamed “shut up” loudly at George. As George’s demonstration intensified the prime minister spoke loudly through the microphone and asked the crowd to applaud the indigenous peoples who had gathered at the farm 25 kilometres south of Vancouver.Earlier in the day, the prime minister marched down Robson Street as a raucous crowd of thousands lined the streets for the annual Pride Parade and spoke at a breakfast in Vancouver’s Davie Village hosted by PFLAG Canada. The prime minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland spoke to reporters briefly before joining the parade and said that though there has been a lot of progress made for the LGBTQ community over the past two years, there was still much more to do. DELTA, B.C. – Drum beats and chanting followed Justin Trudeau to Delta, B.C., on Sunday, as anti-pipeline protesters attempted to disrupt the prime minister’s speech at a Liberal Party of Canada community barbecue.Like several other stops on the prime minister’s long weekend trip to B.C., the protesters appeared at a planned appearance by Trudeau with signs and placards denouncing the Trans Mountain pipeline.Tsleil-Waututh activist William George said he was excited to get access to the event and a chance to voice his opposition to the pipeline directly to the prime minister. Fifteen-year-old Layla Spies, adorned with two rainbow flags tucked into her hair, a rainbow neckband and strings of coloured beads draped around her neck, said she was excited to see Trudeau walk past her and her mother.Great time last night at the Richmond Night Market – it’s opened all weekend long to celebrate BC Day so be sure to stop by if you are in the area! Bordeaux- Morocco replied to Algeria’s latest verbal attack stating President Bouteflika is trying to hide his country’s domestic trouble.Moroccan officials didn’t appreciate Algeria’s tone when addressing the issue of Western Sahara. MAP, the Kingdom’s official press agency, released a wire today stating the Algerian declarations are “yet another diversion to hide a precarious internal situation.”In a speech read on his behalf by the justice minister, Algeria’s ailing President Abdelaziz Bouteflika had said an international mechanism to monitor human rights in the disputed territory was needed “more than ever.” Bouteflika referred to what he called “the massive and systematic human rights violations that take place inside the occupied territories to suppress the peaceful struggle” of the Sahrawis for freedom of expression and association.“The affirmations of the Algerian President show (…) the great weakness of a regime that is conscious of the unsustainability of its anachronistic position on the Sahara issue,” said MAP on Tuesday. On Saturday, the Istiqlal Party had provoked Algeria, which backs the pro-independence Polisario Front, by asking the government to officially retrieve Eastern Saharan territories, including Tindouf and Colomb Bechare, which before the French colonization belonged to Morocco. It also asked for the issue to be on the agenda of the UN’s Fourth Committee in charge of decolonization. On Tuesday, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra called on Morocco to show restraint, saying “this incident, as well as the outrageously expansionist statement by the leader of a Moroccan political party, are totally unacceptable and irresponsible.”On his part, Algerian Ministry Foreign Affairs Spokesman Amar Belani referred to this altercation by saying: “Algeria will not react to the frivolous and irresponsible provocations. We keep all the serenity that comes with defending just causes and international law, far from this medieval Moroccan party’s schizophrenic and unacceptable belching, and whose platform is inspired by a totally obsolete expansionism.” He reaffirmed his country’s will to lobby for a UN mechanism to monitor human rights in the region. The harsh words exchanged by the North African arch-rivals indicate that the neighbors’ relationship is far from being that of brotherly countries that share not only borders, but a common history, culture, religion and language. In his first address before the parliament since he was appointed Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Salah Eddine Mezaouar said on Tuesday that “Algeria tries its best to stall the negotiation process advocated by the United Nations and focuses on marginal elements by means of using human rights in international fora.”© Morocco World News. Gio Simeone is still going to work hard in order to become an Atletico Madrid player someday, but he wants to avoid nepotism in Argentina. The sentiment that awakens Atletico Madrid in some players is simply inevitable sometimes, Argentina international Gio Simeone is the best example of this because he doesn’t care that his father doesn’t want to coach him there for now.Any professional football player who has the characteristic fighting spirit that any Atletico Madrid player historically has, would have the dream of someday playing for the Colchoneros regardless of the circumstances. The oldest of Diego Simeone’s sons heard what his father had to say about the possibility of coaching him someday in the Spanish club, but he doesn’t seem to care about the response.Giovanni Simeone has the dream of playing for Atletico Madrid in the future because he is a true fan of the institution, he doesn’t care if his father is still the manager of the squad when he reaches a level that is good enough for the club to pursue him.The trades that this striker has are very similar to what the club has always wanted in their best players, which makes the possibility even greater for him in the near future. All Gio has to do is keep working hard, and hope that he can get that call soon.”ME ENCANTARÍA VER A MI PAPÁ ACÁ””SIEMPRE ME DICE QUE NO ES EL MOMENTO”#CentralFOX | Giovanni Simeone opinó sobre la situación de su padre como posible entrenador de la Selección Argentina. pic.twitter.com/90fIWMnYzm— FOX Sports Argentina (@FOXSportsArg) October 14, 2018The eldest of Simeone’s kids granted an interview with Fox Sports, where he discussed his father again and the upcoming friendly match between Argentina and Brazil on Tuesday.“Atletico Madrid is something that has been practically taught to us, it’s inside me and my dad, but I never had the chance of being coached by him.”“My old man has never talked to me about this possibility. I’ve been preparing for this possibility this year, but I honestly didn’t expect a call-up this soon.”“My grandfather gave me a very useful advice. People from the Baramulla constituency of North Kashmir turn out to vote despite reports of violence and threats in the regionTwitter/ Ieshan WaniAn on-duty sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) was allegedly thrashed by Indian Army men on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, Ghulam Rasool Wani was also on duty for Lok Sabha elections in the South Kashmir constituency.Wani had to report at a polling booth in Anantnag and was travelling along with four other election officers in a vehicle on the Srinagar-Qazigund stretch of the highway. Wani told Indian Express that the vehicle was stopped at three security checkpoints but was eventually allowed to travel on the highway during the security forces’ convoy movement. “They noticed the SDM sign on our car and let us go,” Wani said. However, at the fourth checkpoint, an Indian Army soldier interrupted the poll officers and refused to let them reach their location. “He asked us to come out of the vehicle. And as soon as we came out, he dragged me by the collar and dragged me on the road for 20 metres. The fellow soldiers pointed their guns at the poll officers and even snatched my cellphone,” Wani added.Wani said that the Indian Army men assaulted all the staff members and threatened them at gunpoint.
